At the height of his fame, from the 1950s to the 1970s, Liberace was the highest-paid entertainer in the world, with established residencies in Las Vegas, and an international touring schedule. A child prodigy and the son of working class immigrants, Liberace enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. Władziu Valentino Liberace (– February 4, 1987), mononymously known as Liberace, was an American pianist, singer, and actor. This version was distributed by Shapiro Bernstein. In June 1939, "Beer Barrel Polka", as recorded by Will Glahé, was #1 on the Hit Parade.
The polka became famous around the world.
Its first text was written later (in 1934) by Václav Zeman – with the title Škoda lásky ("Wasted Love"). At that time, it was played without lyrics as Modřanská polka ("Polka of Modřany"). Eduard Ingriš wrote the first arrangement of the piece, after Vejvoda came upon the melody and sought Ingriš's help in refining it. The music was composed by the Czech musician Jaromír Vejvoda in 1927. The virtuoso piece from Liberace - "Beer Barrel Polka", also known as The Barrel Polka and Roll Out the Barrel, is a song which became popular worldwide during World War II.

The first recording was by Richard Clayderman and world-wide sales now have reached 22 million copies in 38 countries. Paul de Senneville composed the piece as a tribute to his newborn daughter, Adeline. "Ballade pour Adeline" (French for "Ballad for Adeline") is a 1976 instrumental composed by Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint.
